CLIPICK

Privacy Policy

Effective October 8, 2026

This policy explains what information Clipick collects, how it's used, who it's shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who uses the Clipick app. Clipick has no real-money features, so no payment or financial account data is collected anywhere in this policy.

01What We Collect

Account information

Email address or phone number, username, password (stored in hashed form, never in plain text), and any profile details you choose to add — display name, bio, avatar. If you sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook, we receive the basic details that service shares with us — typically your name, email address (which may be a private relay address if you use Apple's "Hide My Email"), and profile photo. We never receive your Apple, Google, or Facebook password.

Your privacy settings

Whether your account is private, whether each clip is public or followers-only, and your follow relationships, including follow requests you send or approve.

Content you create

Video clips you upload, comments, likes, guesses, follows, and any other content or interactions you post or take inside the app.

What other people can see. Likes and guesses are not anonymous. Anyone who can watch a clip can see which accounts liked it and which accounts guessed, along with the answer each account picked and, once the clip is resolved, whether that guess was right. For a followers-only clip, that is only the creator's approved followers. For a clip from a private account, it is only people the creator has approved. People you have blocked, and people who have blocked you, do not see your activity. Your profile, your public clips, and your follower and following counts are visible according to your account's privacy setting.

Usage data

What you view, how long you watch, what you guess, and general in-app activity — used to make the feed relevant and to measure whether the app is working the way it should.

Device & technical data

IP address, device type and identifiers, operating system, app version, and crash or error logs.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, we store a push-notification token for your device so we can tell you about new followers, guesses, comments, and clips that have been resolved. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

Camera & microphone

If you record a clip in the app, we access your device's camera and microphone only while you're recording, with your device-level permission. Clipick does not access the camera or microphone in the background.

Photos

If you choose a video or profile photo from your library, we access only the item you select. If you turn on "Save a copy to Photos" or tap "Save to Photos" on one of your own clips, Clipick saves that video to your photo library. Clipick does not read or upload anything else in your library, and you can revoke access in your device settings.

02How We Use It

Clipick does not sell personal information and does not use it for third-party targeted advertising.

03Who We Share It With

We share information with service providers who help us run Clipick, under contracts that limit what they can do with it. Today that's Supabase, which provides our hosting, database, authentication, and file storage, and Expo, which delivers push notifications (on Android through Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging), and OpenAI, which automatically screens a few still frames from each uploaded video for nudity and graphic content before the clip is shown to others. We send OpenAI only those frames, not your account details. If you choose to sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook, that company handles your sign-in under its own privacy policy and shares the details described above with us. As Clipick grows, this list may expand to include analytics or crash-reporting tools — this policy will be updated to name them when it does.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights or safety of Clipick or its users, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users where required.

04Children's Privacy

Clipick is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we've collected information from a child under 13 without the required parental consent, we'll delete it. If you believe a child under 13 is using Clipick, contact us so we can investigate.

05Your Choices & Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or similar state privacy laws. Clipick honors access and deletion requests as a matter of practice, regardless of whether a specific law formally applies to us yet.

06Data Retention & Security

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, or as long as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, but no system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

07International Users

Clipick is U.S.-only at launch. If Clipick later opens to users outside the U.S. — particularly the EU or UK — this policy will be updated with additional disclosures before that expansion happens.

08Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Clipick changes. We'll post the updated version with a new effective date; continuing to use Clipick after changes take effect means you accept them.
